meet our collections of meetMILK® buttons
Our button collections are made to match our fabric collections in both colors and style - simple and uncomplicated.
You can see our different styles below.
Our buttons are made of Corozo, which is a natural material derived from the nuts of the Tagua tree, that grows in the equatorial rainforests of central America. When the nuts ripen on the tree, they fall to the ground naturally, so havesting literally means picking them up from the ground, which further means, that the trees are not damaged or cut down to get the nuts.
Corozo buttons are known to have excellent durability and scratch resistance, due to the hardness and compact texture of the fiber.
You can see the slightly grainy and natural appearance of the fiber texture in the surface, making each button unique.
Raw Corozo fiber has a porous surface, which makes it a prime material to dye. The dye is allowed to reach deep into the fiber, and the fiber binds the color very well. This means that Corozo can be dyed with low impact dye that does not contain toxic chemicals or mordants. They require less rinsing (hence less waste water) and they have a high absorption rate in the fiber, so less color is needed.
Corozo has a beautiful and noble appearance with a semi-matte finish and exclusive touch.
It is also a very strong material that can withstand both washing, ironing, dry cleaning and, of course, to be worn and used.
All our buttons are made in Turkey, and they are certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
